Professional Experience:

Middle/High School Librarian:
Employed by the Ridgway Area School District
  • Responsibilities: Managing a 6-12 library including budgeting, ordering, materials processing, circulation, weeding, inventory, memorials, conference room scheduling, media cart scheduling, AV materials distribution, and InterLibrary loan. I also teach three research skills classes and collaborate with teachers in teaching their students online research skills. Research skills taught include, but are not limited to, website evaluations, subscription databases, web 2.0 tools, Microsoft office tools, online safety, citation generators, online reference sources, and the Big6 research model.

Elementary School Librarian:
Employed by the St. Marys Area School District
  • Responsibilities: Managing two k-5 libraries including budgeting, ordering, materials processing, circulation, weeding, inventory, memorials, and InterLibrary loan. I also taught library and research skills to all classes, k-5.

Introduction to Microsoft Office Teacher:
Employed by DuBois Business College
  • Responsibilities: During my time at DuBois Business College, I was responsible for teaching several introduction courses in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel using a set curriculum and textbook guide.

Children’s Librarian:
Employed by the Ridgway Public Library
  • Responsibilities: While working for the Ridgway Public Library, I was in charge of children’s story hour, and assisted in children’s materials selection, circulation, InterLibrary Loan, reshelving, and the summer reading program. I also assisted wherever I was needed including annual fundraisers and the Halloween haunted house.
